Our Mission
PRPath.ca helps newcomers and prospective immigrants understand the many possible pathways to Canadian Permanent Residency — Express Entry, the Provincial Nominee Programs, family sponsorship, and other federal and regional streams. We built this site because the information newcomers need is scattered across dozens of government websites, each with its own terminology, point systems, and deadlines. Our goal is to put free, clearly-sourced, and easy-to-understand tools in one place: a CRS score estimator, an occupation (NOC) lookup, eligibility checks for federal and provincial programs, and settlement guides for after you arrive. Our content is researched and drafted with AI assistance, checked against official sources, and reviewed by PRPath.ca's owner before publishing. We are not a law firm and not a registered immigration consultancy — we built the tools we wish had existed when we were researching our own immigration options.
How PRPath.ca Works
Content on PRPath.ca comes from three places, and we try to make clear which one applies on any given page. First, official data: rules, point values, processing times, and program requirements taken directly from IRCC, provincial and territorial immigration ministries, and other government sources such as Statistics Canada and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Second, PRPath Editorial analysis: original explanations, comparisons, and guides drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by PRPath.ca before publishing, to help you make sense of that official data, clearly labelled as such and never presented as a government publication. Third, expert review: once a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) agrees to review our content, we name that reviewer directly on the pages they have checked, with their RCIC number and a link to verify them on the CICC public register. For the full detail on how each of these is sourced, drafted, and corrected, see our Editorial Policy.
How We Use AI and Translation
Most of our content is drafted with AI assistance and then checked against official government sources by an automated process, with human oversight from PRPath.ca's owner, before it is published. This speeds up how quickly we can cover a policy change, but it does not replace sourcing from IRCC and provincial materials, and it is never a substitute for legal advice. PRPath.ca is available in nine languages. English and French content is drafted and reviewed directly by PRPath.ca. The other seven languages — Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Italian, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian — are produced using a mix of professional and AI-assisted translation; not every translated page has been independently checked by a native speaker, so meaning may occasionally drift slightly from the English original, particularly on newer articles. If you read a page in any language and something looks wrong, unclear, or mistranslated, please tell us — see the corrections process in our Editorial Policy — and we will fix it.
How Our Tools Work
Our CRS calculator, NOC occupation lookup, and eligibility checks are built on official IRCC rules, the Comprehensive Ranking System point grid, and provincial nominee program criteria, and we update them whenever a relevant policy changes. These tools give you an estimate for planning purposes, not an official determination. For the technical detail behind each calculator, including how and when we check it against IRCC's own published figures, see our Methodology page.
Our Data Sources
We source our information from official Canadian government resources including:
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
- Provincial and territorial immigration websites
- Statistics Canada (demographic and labour market data)
- Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (settlement cost data)
