Editorial Policy

This page explains how PRPath.ca researches, writes, and checks the content you read, how our consultant directory is compiled, and what to do if you spot an error.

How We Source Content

Our guides and tools are built directly from official sources — Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), provincial and territorial immigration ministries, and other government bodies such as Statistics Canada and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). Where a page states a rule, score, or figure, it traces back to one of these official sources.

Our News section works a little differently: most articles are imported directly from an official Government of Canada news feed and link back to their original source. A smaller number of articles, labelled "PRPath Editorial," are original analysis drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by PRPath.ca rather than a government source. Every article is labelled so you know which kind you are reading.

How Content Is Drafted and Checked

Most of our content is drafted with AI assistance, then checked against the official government source (IRCC or the relevant provincial/territorial ministry) by our automated fact-checking process, with PRPath.ca's owner reviewing the result before publication. No licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or lawyer currently reviews our content. If a licensed RCIC agrees to review it in future, we will name that reviewer directly on the pages they have checked, with a "Reviewed by" note, their RCIC number, and a link to verify them on the CICC public register. Until then, nothing on this site has been reviewed by a licensed immigration professional, and it never replaces legal advice.

How Often Content Is Updated

News articles are imported and reviewed daily. Guides, calculators, and program pages are reviewed whenever IRCC or a province changes a relevant policy, and at minimum every few months. Most guide pages show a "Last verified" date so you can see exactly how current the information is before you rely on it.

Corrections

If you find information that is outdated, inaccurate, or missing a source, please tell us using the contact form in the site footer, or email feedback@prpath.ca. We review every report, and when we correct a page we update its "Last verified" date so the correction stays visible.

Consultant Listings

Our consultant directory is compiled from the public register of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), Canada's immigration-consultant regulator. Listings are unclaimed by default: we have not verified that any individual consultant endorses, maintains, or has even seen their own listing. A "verified" label only means we checked the stated RCIC number against the public CICC register at the time shown — it is not an endorsement or a guarantee of quality. Always confirm a consultant's current standing directly on the CICC register before hiring them.

This Is Not Legal Advice

Nothing on PRPath.ca is legal or immigration advice, and nothing here creates a client relationship with PRPath.ca or with any consultant listed on it. We are not a licensed immigration consultancy and are not regulated by the CICC. For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed RCIC or immigration lawyer.
