This page explains how our calculators and scoring tools work, where their numbers come from, and how often we check them against official sources.
CRS Calculator
Our Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) calculator follows the point grid and factor weights IRCC publishes in its ministerial instructions for Express Entry — core human-capital factors (age, education, language ability, Canadian work experience), spouse factors, skill-transferability combinations, and additional points such as a provincial nomination, a valid job offer, a Canadian sibling, French-language ability, or a Canadian credential. When IRCC updates these point values or thresholds, we update the calculator to match. The calculator gives an estimate for planning purposes; your official score is calculated by IRCC only after you submit an Express Entry profile.
NOC/TEER Occupation Classification
Occupation eligibility is assessed against the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 structure and its TEER (Training, Education, Experience, Responsibilities) categories, as published by Employment and Social Development Canada and used by IRCC for Express Entry and most Provincial Nominee Programs.
Draw Scores and Processing Times
Where we show recent Express Entry draw cut-off scores, category-based draw results, or processing-time estimates, these figures are pulled from IRCC's own published draw results and operational-processing-times pages and refreshed on a regular schedule, not predicted or estimated by us. Past draw scores are historical data points, not a guarantee of any future draw's cut-off.
Our Tools Give Estimates, Not Official Determinations
Every score, eligibility result, and recommendation on PRPath.ca is an estimate based on the information you provide and the rules in effect at the time of our last review. It is not an official determination by IRCC, a province, or any government body, and it cannot account for every detail of your individual circumstances, such as admissibility issues, document authenticity, or discretionary officer review. Always confirm your eligibility and score directly through your IRCC account, or with a licensed RCIC or immigration lawyer, before making decisions.
