Self-Employed Persons Program

The federal Self-Employed Persons Program has been paused since April 30, 2024, with IRCC extending the pause indefinitely as of December 2025.

Previously targeted 2+ years self-employment in cultural activities or athletics, plus farm management experience, on a 35/100 selection grid; existing backlog runs 4-10+ years. Quebec's own Self-Employed Worker Program remains active, requiring French Level 7 and $100,000+ net worth.
