Start-Up Visa Program

The Start-Up Visa Program is closed to new applications: IRCC stopped accepting new commitment certificates January 1, 2026, with June 30, 2026 as the last day to apply for 2025-certificate holders.

Previously needed support from a venture capital fund ($200K+), angel group ($75K+), or incubator (no min), CLB 5, settlement funds, and 10%+ voting rights. Backlog exceeded 10-year processing; IRCC has signalled a future stricter 'high-impact' entrepreneur pilot, no launch date confirmed.
