Category-Based Draw
A category-based draw invites only candidates matching a specific occupation, language, or demographic category, instead of everyone above one CRS line.
Since 2023, categories include healthcare, trades, transport, STEM, agriculture, education, senior managers, physicians, military, and French. Cut-offs can be far lower than CEC (2026 French draws as low as 382 vs ~507-534 for CEC).
