Proof of Funds
Proof of funds is evidence (typically 6 months of bank statements) showing an applicant has enough unencumbered money to support themselves and family after arriving in Canada.
Current Express Entry minimum for a single applicant is $14,690 CAD (effective Jan 1, 2026), higher for larger families; not required with a valid job offer or under CEC. Separate from the study permit's financial threshold ($23,448 CAD, effective Sept 1, 2026).
