Settlement Funds
Settlement funds are the minimum unencumbered money IRCC requires an economic-class applicant to show before landing, scaled to family size.
Current single-applicant minimum is $14,690 CAD (effective Jan 1, 2026), rising per family member; typically shown via 6 months of bank statements. Distinct from both the larger practical first-month settlement budget and the separate study-permit threshold.
