Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (CAQ)

A CAQ is a Quebec-issued certificate that temporary workers and students generally need before (or alongside) a federal work or study permit to come to Quebec specifically.

Applying for the CAQ and federal permit around the same time can avoid delays, but exact timing requirements (simultaneous, sequential, either order) need case-by-case confirmation with IRCC or Quebec authorities.

Some details in this definition are flagged internally for a follow-up fact-check against the primary IRCC/provincial source; the text above is written conservatively pending that review.
