Work Permit
A work permit authorizes a foreign national to work in Canada, issued as either employer-specific (closed) or open, depending on the category.
Closed permits tie the holder to one employer/job/location (usually need an LMIA); open permits allow work for almost any employer. Categories include LMIA-based, CUAET, spousal, PGWP, BOWP, and IEC permits.
